Alicia Avila was trained to be an EMDR trainer by Dr. Francine Shapiro. This San Diego Regional EMDRIA approved is for a small cohort of clinicians to foster a supportive collegial environment using the EMDR Institute training materials with the latest updates.  

This training includes more than the EMDRIA required 50 hours. (EMDRIA requires 20 hours of lecture, 20 hours of practice and 10 hours of consultation all completed within 12 months). The training is content heavy including time on each day for each of you to have direct practice with each other using your own personal material. These are not role plays. You will get to practice some of strategies taught each day and experience them as a client. this will include some work on incidents that hld distrbance for you. If you are not ready be in a client role as part of the training or if you do not have an active client caseload, you will want to hold off on enrolling for this training.

This training is eligible for 40 CEU when requested for licensed clinicians who complete the full training.  Requests must be made at time of enrollment.

You must complete all 6 full training dates (8:30-5), plus the 5 consultation meetings (2-hour virtual meetings), plus 3 videos to watch prior to the first lecture, evaluations, quizzes, and the required reading.   

Training and consultation meetings are spread out to aid in your application of EMDR in your practice.  Please read documents below for more information on the requirements and expectations.

Registration due at least 60 days prior to training:  Application, Participant agreement, and registration fee. Contact me for special accommodations. Note the fee includes the 6 days PLUS the 10 hours of consultation, videos, manual and CEU's for those who are licensed and request the CEU's in advance. Unlicensed clinicians need their clinical supervisor's approval and the clinical supervisor needs to complete the supervisor agreement.

Limited spots available. $200 deposit is due at the time of enrollment and is deducted from your the full training fee. Please make sure to read the training overview and participant agreement before enrolling. Complete the documents below. 

For online trainings; your full active attendance and participation (with video camera on) in a private setting without interruptions is necessary.
